The Story of Christmas Village of Lizemores
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a jolly old fellow named Santa Claus.
Long before he became the Santa Claus we all know and love, he was simply a young man with a big heart and an even bigger dream. One day, he met a beautiful young lady named Mrs. Claus. They fell deeply in love, married, and before long, their home was filled with laughter, love, and little elves running everywhere.
Santa and Mrs. Claus dreamed of creating a special place where they could raise their family, make wonderful toys, sing Christmas songs, and bring happiness to children everywhere. After searching far and wide, they found the perfect place and called it the North Pole.
At the North Pole, Santa built his famous toy workshop while Mrs. Claus filled the kitchen with the wonderful smells of freshly baked cookies, cakes, and pies. The elves worked hard all year long, making toys and preparing for the most magical night of the year.
And, of course, there were the reindeer!
Santa raised his beloved reindeer and eventually built his famous sleigh so he could deliver toys and presents to boys and girls around the world on Christmas Eve.
The North Pole was always filled with music. Mrs. Claus and the elves would sing Christmas favorites such as Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bells, and Santa Claus Is Coming to Town. Before long, Santa and the elves discovered something magical—they could make the Christmas lights dance along with the music!
The North Pole became a place filled with lights, music, laughter, love, and Christmas magic.
A New Christmas Home
Then, one special Christmas Eve, Santa sat down with Mrs. Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Santa had an idea.
He wanted to create another special place—a place where children and families could experience the magic of Christmas without having to travel all the way to the North Pole.
After searching for the perfect location, Santa found a beautiful little community in Lizemores, West Virginia.
Santa looked around and smiled.
“This is the place,” he said.
And so, Santa, Mrs. Claus, the elves, and the reindeer began making plans for a new Christmas home.
They called it the Christmas Village of Lizemores.
Before long, children and families began arriving from Clay County and surrounding communities. They came to see the beautiful lights, listen to Christmas music, visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, and experience the magic of the Christmas season.
There were giant Santas, trains, spinning elves, sparkling lights, Christmas decorations, and so many wonderful things to see that children could hardly believe their eyes.
As they walked through the village, visions of sugarplums danced in their heads, while moms, dads, grandparents, and families watched the smiles on their children's faces.
Something very special was happening in Lizemores.
A Village Filled With Christmas Magic
Word began to spread.
Families from nearby communities came to visit. Then families from counties across West Virginia began making the trip.
Soon, people everywhere were talking about the magical Christmas home in Lizemores known as the Christmas Village of Lizemores.
Santa and Mrs. Claus were overwhelmed by the joy they saw on the faces of the children.
But Santa had an even bigger dream.
He wanted to make the Christmas Village bigger, brighter, and even more magical so that even more children and families could experience the joy of Christmas.
You see, Santa had another very special connection to making children smile.
Many years ago, Santa became a dentist. He always believed that every child deserved a healthy, happy, bright smile.
So Santa decided that one of his elves should share his passion for bringing bright smiles to children everywhere.
One late evening, Santa, Mrs. Claus, the elves, and the reindeer gathered together around a great Christmas bonfire.
There were toys, cookies, candy canes, and marshmallows everywhere. They roasted marshmallows, drank hot cocoa, sang Christmas carols, and laughed together beneath the stars.
It was a wonderful night.
Santa became so excited that he began dancing around the fire.
His eyes twinkled.
His bells jingled.
His belly shook like a bowl full of jelly.
And then Santa shouted:
“HO! HO! HO! Pack your bags, everyone! We're moving to the Christmas Village of Lizemores!”
And So the Story Continues...
And so it came to be that Santa, Mrs. Claus, the elves, and all the reindeer found a new home in Lizemores, West Virginia.
They found a place where families could come together, children could laugh, neighbors could celebrate, and everyone could experience the true joy of Christmas.
Most importantly, they found a place where everyone could remember the reason we celebrate Christmas—the birth of Jesus Christ.
Today, the Christmas Village of Lizemores continues Santa's dream of creating a place filled with lights, music, laughter, kindness, family, and Christmas magic.
